The St. Anthony Sand Dunes is a huge playground of clear, shifting, white quartz sand is known for its unique beauty and exceptional recreation opportunities. The Sand Dunes consists of more than 11,000 acres and were formed 10,000 years ago. Over many years, winds carried the sand from the nearby Teton and Snake Rivers and deposited them in the hills north of Rexburg. The hills used to be active volcanic vents thousands of years ago.

There is a primitive type campground at Egin Lake that has a potable water system, RV dump station and 48 improved camp units, including electrical service.
